OC

OC Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students begin preparing for the OC Placement Test in Term 2 of Year 3, with the test itself taking place in May of Year 4.

Opportunity classes are designed for high-potential and gifted students in Years 5 and 6. Parents can apply for placement when their child is in the final term of Year 3 for entry into Year 5.

Some students excel in class and consistently complete their homework but may struggle to achieve great test scores. Test-taking is a distinct skill that schools often overlook teaching. To adequately prepare students for the OC Placement Test, it’s crucial to teach them how to take a test effectively. This course is designed to equip students with essential skills such as time management, test-taking strategies, and proven methods for approaching different question types. That’s where our OC Testing Course makes the difference.

Each week, students sit for an OC-style mock exam under exam conditions. During the test, the teacher provides hints, guidance, and a supportive nudge when necessary. Afterward, the teacher reviews every question with the class, demonstrating the most effective strategies for tackling each one. During each review session, Mr Paul will focus on test-taking techniques and time management strategies.
